AERVIDEO: The end.

by Levin Pablo

It’s bittersweet to announce the closure of AERVIDEO. After many thrilling years developing products, throwing GoPros and breaking the rules of traditional filmmaking, we’ve decided to stop the development and sale of our products - at least for now.

If you're still looking to get your hands on one of the last AERs ever, head on over to camforpro.com/aervideo or, if you're located in Australia or New Zealand, check out livetoadventure.com.au/shop/aer/. But act fast, because these last few units won't be around for long!

Please note, that we also won’t be offering any further support as of May 1st, 2023. Check the links above to get replacement parts and you can always try to fix your AER yourself. We’ve found that ‘UHU POR’ works great for gluing the Wings - but good ol’ duct tape also does the job, if that’s all you got. In this PDF you can find some additional information about fixing your AER.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for being a part of our community, the AERFORCE. Together, we've thrown GoPros in over 80 different countries. That's a lot of adventurous souls out there! The memories will keep us smiling for years to come.

You folks made this more than a business. You made it a movement. An important part of that has always been co-creation. Shaping products together, crowdsourcing solutions, embracing that open-source philosophy. We’ll miss the feedback loops and new ideas that emerged from our community.

It’s sad, sure, but the joy this journey has brought us will never fade. Thank you to everyone who ever threw a GoPro, every customer who ever messaged us with a question, every partner who ever helped expand our horizons.

While AERVIDEO may be closing its doors, the future of creativity remains bright. It’s May 2023, we’re in the early stages of what feels like an AI revolution, and I’m asking myself “what even is traditional filmmaking?”. One of the things I’ve learned from last years is that ultimately it doesn’t really matter what tools you use or which rules you follow. Real human connection and good story-telling is what captures our emotions.

Runway AI and similar tools are opening doors for filmmakers, who didn’t even know about the existence of those doors. That’s not that different to what happened back in 2015, when drones got better and more affordable, enabling filmmakers and photographers all over the globe to get aerial shots. Or, in our case, sparked the idea of simply throwing our camera.

The AERVIDEO team sends you off with hearts full of gratitude and well wishes for epic adventures and enticing story-telling.

All the very best,

Levin Pablo
